Volunteer to Help Clean Up Swegle Elementary! You are invited to take part in a morning clean-up event on Saturday, August 20, 2011 at Swegle Elementary School. The clean-up starts at 8:00 a.m. and closes at noon, and volunteers are welcome to participate for the whole morning or just part of the event. It is sponsored by the Salem-Keizer Education Foundation, in conjunction with Salem-Keizer Public Schools. Volunteers will tackle weeds, litter and trim branches at both schools. Many hands are needed. Wheel barrows, weed trimmers, and branch trimmers are also needed. Only a few tools will be available for use, so volunteers are asked to bring tools if possible – especially weed trimmers (gas preferred), branch pruners and wheel barrows. Swegle is a kindergarten through fifth-grade school with an enrollment that averages around 570 students.
